All
participating institutions are considered 'Implementing Institutions' of the
BIO-EARN Programme. The Programme operates nine projects. Each project, with all its partner institutions,
is managed by a lead institution represented by the Principal Investigator (PI) who reports to the Regional
Coordination
Office. In countries where a PI for a particular project is not
located, a co-principal investigator (Co-PI) is appointed.
The
tasks of lead institutions/PIs are:
technical and financial coordination of the project, convening
review meetings and implementation of project activities. The
nine BIO-EARN projects comprise four R&D projects, one
policy project and four innovation fund projects.
